Our 91 Carat's oil cooler hose (the one toward the rear of the engine) has apparently been weeping through a pinhole for some time, explaining the slow loss of coolant (DuH!). Today the leak is no longer a tiny spritz but a steady leak. Any advice on the gymnastics required to replace this hose which seems to be no longer than about 4 inches long? To reach it I know I'll have to remove the oil filter, but what else should I be aware of before attempting a field repair? Assuming, of course, that I can find a suitable replacement, shortly, from one of the local VW dealers' parts departments... Anyone know if a FLAPS hose fits this particular requirement?
