Hey all, I just noticed a discussion on the yahoo list about the use of copper in out cooling system... "Since a Vanagon's engine is mainly aluminium, nothing (repeat NOTHING) in the coolant current must be copper. Otherwise chemical-electric reactions would occur between copper, aluminium, and the coolant, which would result in a slow but finally lethal erosion of the aliminium." I know that many of us have followed the NAPA hose replacement path that includes using copper pipe. Any chemists out there care to comment?
