I guess I'll throw a little something into this argument. I have a 2.1 in my with 200,000 plus miles on it. I've been trying to get the original headgaskets to blow so I can have an excuse to stick an inline-4 or VR6 in there. She's still going strong. Having owned many vehicles with converted powertrains, I can say w/o hesitation that I was most happy with same make swaps versus the cross-species variety. I can also say from experience that you basically marry your swap. It is rare that you can ever get all the money you put into it. Collector value is most definitely affected to the negative. To each his own. Now if I can only afford to put a VW W8 engine in the back of this thing.....
