Oh boy- There MUST be a VW god watching over me sometimes! I went under there to use the ideas that I got from you wonderful folks, and get to the business of draining the tranny oil. Out of PURE LAZINESS (or the VW god's divine intervention) I went for the "easy" filler plug first, and soon applied enough pressure on that stuck peckerhead bolt to strip it right out! Boy am I strong!

Then, after getting bummed out, I realize that the bright side of this is that I didnt drain the oil already! I woulda been in REALLY big trouble then. I wash up, have dinner and then check the old email, and theres lots of good "hacks" for making a short drain plug tool out of nuts and bolts, AND everyone is telling me to MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN GET THE FILLER PLUG OUT FIRST. Thats good advice!

Anyhow... I have been pondering my options on this one... I have to get either the engine, transmission, or both out of there to replace the clutch soon, and figured I could deal with it then by.....

1.) Having someone smarter than me who has bigger tools get the filler bolt out. 2.) (with the trans out of the car) Draining the oil, and then flipping it over and filling it back up! (well...laziness has protected me so far...)

What would YOU do?

Thanks
