True enough Ben. Collector value (yes maybe one day, just like the Type 1's) is hurt by any non-stock parts whimsy. But OH THE FUN. Just got back from 2 hours of freeway driving at 75. -steve Former owner of: 1970 GTO- bone stock. Fast. Hit 90mph before I knew it. 1973 V8 Vega (fast, and NEVER collectable) 1973 CJ5, with a 327 Chevy (4 wheel burnouts and yes fun) 1970 Cuda (no comment) 1970 something Mazda RX4, lowered, fast (spin baby spin!) 1970 TR6 (was driving in it when the radio said Elvis died.) 1970 Stingray (LS 7, 465 hp, we installed after fact. motor died) Old lady t-boned my brother. Totalled.) 1968 RS Camaro, 427 Chevy. Another fast one. 1969 Corrolla (fun, cheap, made of tin, and huge mpg) 1973 Westfalia- the start of the bus buying) 1971 Bus, deluxe. Bought in LA from orig. owner. Surfer of course 1971 Single Cab. Great truck. Sold it to a Porsche repair shop owner. He still has it and wont give it back) 1971 Double Cab. Rusty. But I finally could carry groceries AND a passenger) 89 Civic Si. Fun. Reliable. Fun. Reliable. 1980 something Audi 4000. GREAT motor. 27 Mpg. And a bunch of Vanagons.
