Geez, relax. This is a matter of opinion, not fact. Do you know the mechanic or why he wants payment in full? If he is tops and reputable and stands by his work, what's the problem. If, for example, you get a rebuilt transaxle from Weddle, you pay about $2500 in advance...and they send you a rebuilt from their stock. You don't send 50%, install it to see if it works ok and then send the other 50%. There are mechanics i would pay in full in advance if that's what i had to do to get them to do the work. It depends on the facts.

No need to call people idiots. No need to sit in judgment of people you know nothing about. No need to insist that everyone be/think like you. And no need to call me Schwenky, thank you.
