Tim, you may be mistaken. Paypal does send confirmation e-mails using the payees e-mail address, not paypals. Second, if you did give him a new e-mail address under which you do not have an account, the money will sit there under the NEW email until you claim it. I had this happen to me.

Go to paypal and add your new e-mail to your account. Then money should appear.

This same thing happened to me and ZI thought I was getting ripped off, too. But the money was there under the non-account e-mail. If you follow the link on the confirming e-mail, you will likely find it, but they will ask you to open an account to get it since the e-mail is not the one you are registered under.

I sold Adam springs and there was no problem. Steve
