Thanks for the quick reply! This is something I've been thinking about for a while. I'm currently driving an 83 Westfalia Air-cooled and have a brand new (rebuilt) engine to go into it. However Waserboxers are all over Texas wrecking yards with fatal engine failures and some of them are very nice looking vehicles and can be had very cheap. Any way I'm a project kinda guy and I've done lot of engine conversions before for customers; the conversion I liked best was the small block Chevy into the VandenPlas Jaguar, it was real clean and the customer is still driving it after eight years.
