140K without leaky heads is good.  Wait.  I COULD have had a Subaru, and I
would have changed my timing belts at least 3 times by now.  Unlike a leaky
head, the timing belt gives no prior warning.  Snap, you're stranded.  They
are supposed to go 60K between timing belt changes, but they usually don't
last that long.  Let's see, $600 times three would mean $1800 in timing belt
changes alone.  While my WBX is still purring along.

Has anyone considered the fact that Subaru engines leak also?  As in coolant
from the head gasket?

Well, duh!!! They only MADE maybe a thousand times as many Subarus as
Vanagons.
You think a wasserboxer with140k without leaks is good? Just shows how bad
the problem is with those engines.
