My 1985 Crew cab is doing something similar...quiet on the straight, some thumping in the turns. At first, I thought I had a loose wheel brearing..so I checked the adjustment on both sides...mine were fine. I would advise you to check yours, especially since you have new rotors...the bearing sometimes need to be re-adjusted after replacement. In my case, I have slop in the steering rack...so I need to start saving up the $250 that the Bus Depot gets for a new rack. :( Guess what will be the next illustrated tech article on my website! Hey folks... My van has developed a strange thump thump thump thump sound that seems to be coming out of the front wheels. However, it only makes the noise when I'm turning. I can sort of feel the vibration under my foot as well. Also, like most wheel noises, the thumping gets faster the faster I go. The van has new front rotors and pads, so I don't think it's the brakes. Any idea what thismight be? thanks greg 82 vanagon westfali, california edition. |
