Terry, You would do for the PURE DRIVING FUN that comes from driving a van with a better power to weight ratio. You would do it keep up with other drives on long uphill grades. You would do it so you don't have to keep shifting from second to first and back in steep mountain roads, looking for a gear to match you (lack of) torque.
