Hi folks, With regret, my father needs to part with the family Vanagon. The Van is in Cleveland, Ohio. We had posted this several months ago, but it turned out that he wasn't quite ready to part with it at that time. Now he is ready, or at least, resigned to the fact. Please contact my father at 216-321-6225. He does not have email or voice mail, but they tend to be home more often than not. If you have problems contacting him you can email me with a phone number and I'll pass it on. But, please contact him for questions about the van, since I don't have any info about it beyond what's listed here. 1986 Vanagon - pop top, Wolfsburg Edition Camper. Sleeps 4, 2 up, 2 down. 106,000 miles. Automatic. A/C - doesn't work well. No fridge. Michelin tires. Body very good, minor rust spots. Canvas in excellent condition. Interior generally very good; driver's seat is well worn. New starter and battery. Needs work: 1. Oil leak. 2. Exhaust pipe that converts t catalytic converter needs replacement. Other pipes, converter, and muffler seem ok. 3. A mechanic (not a VW specialist) said there low compression. 4. Engine starts but doesn’t seem to want to accellerate. Dad has not driven the van in months. License is expired. 5. Reluctant to part with it but need a tow vehicle for camper and formula vee. Asking $2500, obo.
