Today I did what I have been dreading for about three months... change the rotors on my '91 Caravelle. A few months back I installed new rear brake cylinders, shoes and front pads and ordered the new rotors. They've been sitting in the boxes since then. I haven't been putting the miles on since I have been using the Diesel Rabbit a bit more what with fuel prices and all. A 200 mile trip last weekend convinced me to eliminate the pulsing that the new pads couldn't.

Helping out a friend last week, I did the rotors on a a 87 Porsche... practice of a sort. Two hours later, Success! I was psyched for the van. Today on Hans, even with having to knock out the inner and outer bearings and tap them back in...1.5 hours and again....Success!

Now to tackle the transmission fluids, filters and such.

I, too, prefer to hear more of the positive stories; if for nothing else, just to show the newbies that these vans do run well and long.

It's summer...Put the Westy on the road and stay a long time!
