Your 2.0l air cooled is a Type IV VW/Porshe Industrial Engine. Same thing used in the Porshe 914 and the ever popular VW 411 and 412. Bus Boys used to list a sandwich type adapter in their catalog. You probably want to be sure that whatever cooler you install has some sort of thermostatic control.

Chuck '85 Wolfsburg Westy - 'Roland the Road Buffalo' (But I used to drive air cooleds a long time ago)

Anyone know of a place to buy the sandwich adapter that goes between the oil filter and the block? Maybe there is no such thing? <shrug>

BTW, can someone tell me what Type* engine the 2.0l air cooled is? (Type2, Type3, etc)

Thanks a lot,
