Resale value is dictated by demand. I believe hybrids are not in demand as much as an unaltered stock clean vehicle. Sure there will be some special person looking for that special SeppukoWagen (trademark pending). However, the majority of buyers are looking more on the stock side.

The more buyers you have looking for a thing, the better price you can usually get for it. It's just basic law of supply and demand.
