Troubleshooting my dynamic oil pressure warning system on '86 2.1. The sensor on the left side by the pushrod tubes is acting wierd. According to Bentley, this is teh high pressure switch, supposed to close at 13 psi or so. Mine is closed with the engine off, opens when the engine starts and never closes again as the engine revs up. Is that at all normal, or is it messed up inside? The low pressure one by the pump is open when the engine is off, and closes when it starts.

Anybody have a recipe for building there own cheap oil pressure gauge?
