I was thinking about all this stuff today at work, and I came up with another thought.

I have 174,000 miles on my van. I have no idea who in the hell owned it, or how it was maintained, by it's PO's.

I agree that the inline 4 banger is a neat concept, or even the Suaru sounds neat, regardless where it comes from. BUT------ Why in the hell would I want to convert an 85 Vanagon, for let's say $4000.00, plus, plus, plus, when I could probably get another 174,000 miles out of an engine from Boston Bob, for around $2500.00.

I am not sure what the mentality on this is, but it doesn't seem to make any sense.

Enlighten me------
