A few years back the GMC MH group had one of their 'round ups" at our county fairgrounds. A friend, who is into 'real' motorhomes, and I went out and walked around looking at them for an afternoon. There were literally hundreds of them from nearly every state. Most were in excellent shape; a few were beaters. The floor plan was varied which allowed for all kinds of permutations. IIRC there were several lengths available, depending on the year. The overall design is very space conscious and the non-drive trailing wheels allow for the maximization of the rear floor space. The low profile is what really attracted me. In asking questions and being 'forced' to tour several of them we discovered the real reason why a lot of the people owned them...the culture . They were a great big family! If I ever decided to go from 'camper' to 'motorhome', the GMC would be my choice.

Stephen content with the VW motorhome for now
