You really do want to carefully consider your route. Skip Sacramento and just head east on I-10 to Jacksonville, and maybe then head north if the weather is good!

Do you have an auxiliary heater? You'll freeze if you don't with the air cooled system.

Install a pair of Hella H4 headlights along with a couple of relays or you will burn out the headlight switch. See archives for good posts on this. Also, remove and clean the headlight ground under the dash on the left side. My Hella system failed after a few months because the extra current made the corrosion on this ground worse to the point it failed to conduct at all.

Winter travel is dangerous, be sure to have food, water and blankets at all times, and get the nationwide long distance plan for your cell phone for that month if you don't already have it, it will no doubt save you money. -- Stuart MacMillan Seattle
