I have towed Rabbit and Jettas with our vans - even with a 1.5L I4 installed once! Pulling isn't the hard part - STOPPING is the fun. Make sure you have GOOD brakes if you are pulling something big like this. I do seem to recall somewhere that 700kg is the maximum unbreaked and 1200kg is the max with trailer brakes.
