From: Iowa City, Iowa (the Center of the Known Universe)

Vanagon: 1985 GL, Silver with blue interior. Purchased in 1994 (list member since then) with 125,000 miles--now has 212,000 miles.

I have also owned a 1971 Bus, a 1975 Rabbit, a 1980 Rabbit (the bastard of Westmoreland), a 1981 Passat (Dasher) Variant Diesel, a 1985 Jetta GL (the best car I've ever owned), a 1992 Passat Variant (one of the worst cars), and a 1996 Passat GLX Variant (only 37,000 miles--too soon to tell)

Hobbies: Bicycling, keeping my Vanagon alive, hanging out with Iowa writers and drinking beer at Dave's Fox Head Tavern, learning Iowa history--traveling the state and getting used to my new home.
