Bradley I have done a couple of diesel heads in my time some had shatered adjuster cups and compromised lifter bores. It has been my experiance that as long as the lifter cup moves freely in the bore you will have no problem. If you can find somebody that can and will mill the head that is a good idea also after all most of the combuston chamber is in the piston and use the thickest head gasket Bob Donalds Boston engine
