my father (Rico Dagastino) and I have recently redone the rear brakes on my van(hadn'y been done in ten years!), and let us tell you, it's a lot easier to get the drum off if you take the wheel nut off and just remove the drum and the whatsit in the center there instead of trying to remove the thing /w the lugs in the middle from the drum.

a LOT easier. if you have one of those wheel nut remover tools, then you beat on the tool instead of the brake.
