OK, I'm in. Gary Stearns, '88 Vanagon GL 127k, '92 Jetta GLi 16V 165k. Redding, CT, (N of Westport, S of Danbury, where Wall St. types ride 2 hrs on a train to get to their "country home"). Age 47, divorced (Not by choice, wife very ill. She will spend remainder of days in a nursing home. Only way to avoid financial ruin was to divorce). Being Mr. Mom for Emily 10 and Daniel 13. Own an insurance agency. Mostly commercial insurance for professional and hi tech firms. Come from a VW/Audi family. We have owned; Audis: 100LS, Fox, 4000, 5000. VWs: '78 Scirocco, '85 GTi, '87 16V Scirocco, '88 Vanagon GL, '90 Corrado G60, '92 Jetta GLi. Avocations: Mr. Mom, working on VW's, working on the house, working on VW's etc. Fun- track time at Lime Rock and Watkins Glen in the Jetta GLi, spending time in New York's Finger Lakes region. Awesome natural beauty not discovered by city folks and tour busses. Ithaca is Gorges! Best smug feeling- living where Range Rovers and Mercedes SUV's are everywhere and knowing that it's our cool Vanagon that gets attention!!
