60 seconds is about the time that it takes for the system to go from open to closed loop. Can you swap in another ECU?

I just drove my 87' Syncro from Wisconsin to LA California, My vans engine will run perfect and smooth, until 60 sec. or so later it loses power, black smoke comes from the tail pipe and it sounds like it's missing bad. Things tested and replaced: Head (burned valve), both coolant sensors, "Flapper box", plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ground connections,O2 sensor, Cat. Timing and CO where set by a local shop in Illinois. Heres thr kicker, if I quickly turn the ignition switch off then on while this is happening, everything goes back to normal for 60 sec. or so then it does it again, flip the switch etc....HELP! Rex
