At 1:52 PM -0500 6/6/01, Dave Baker rearranged electrons to say:

The motto of teacher Christa McAuliffe, who died in the Challenger explosion in 1986, was "I touch the future -- I teach." My parents are/were both teachers: Dad is a tenured Professor of Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis, and Mom was a home-teacher for our local Special School District for homebound students. If I had been forced to stay home from school due to severe injury, pregnancy, or other reason, I might well have had her as my teacher. How ironic that would have been.

Perhaps my overwhelming curiousity and love of reading is due to them. --
