Hi,
Guess it is my turn to jump into this one. I can offer a opinion as I am a
actual Tiico customer. I have noticed that the subject was asking opinions
from actual customers. It seems everyone who has responded, except for Ken
from Van-again, are not customers or have actually talked to Peter. I know
Peter lurks on the list and believe he is actually on vacation right now.
When I sent my money to Peter, sure I was leery. I had only talked to him a
few times on the phone. I felt much better after hearing about Ken's
dealings with him and the fellow with the shop in Placerville, CA. I also
talked to a customer in Boulder, Colorado about his dealings with Peter.
All had nothing but praise about their dealings with him. During my
shipping and installation, I had him on the phone 20 to 25 times and he was
more than helpful every time. If he did not have the answer he was on the
phone to someone who did. The support he is offering after the purchase has
also been outstanding. Updates by email, diagnostic programs, loaner cable
to connect to your computer, wiring diagrams, part updates at cost, and
manuals. He also has many spares here in the US for immediate shipping. He
is also putting a spare parts kit (hoses, belts, etc.) at a price far below
the dealers.
I guess that if you should be calling someone an idiot it should be me. I
am the one who sent him the money.
I am the one with a zero mile inline four, with a updated fuel injection
system. I looked into the Eurospec conversion at the time. I drove a Subaru
and Buick engined Vanagon. I looked into a Boston Bob engine and factory
rebuilt engines. I avoided AVP after a previous rebuild disaster on my
previous Westy. This seemed like the best option for me. It may not be the
best for everyone, but I believe I have made the best decision for my needs.
I was smart enough to save the money to have it available to be able to
purchase this kit. 4,000+ miles later I still think I made the right
decision for my situation. The Tiico may not be for everyone but it works
for me.
I am no businessman and according to the list experts I am a moron for
fronting Peters business, but I am a happy idiot. They do say ignorance is
bliss. I could have gone a cheaper route but having Peter, who has gone
through this before, offers lots of support, and has a product that has
performed to my expectations, was indispensable.
Your monetarily moronic and Tiico trusting fellow list member,
John Andrew 1984 "Westiico"
P.S. Better run my spell check or Ben T may attack me on my spelling!

Moron? probably----
Idiot? absolutely !!
I was all done with this, but as long as you relit the fire, let me
restructure the whole thought process Chuck, just for your benefit.
The word that I missed in my prior postings was opportunist.
It really rubs me wrong to see or hear about some creep manipulating
folks for a hard earned, ridiculous sum of money, and he isn't even
anything more than a paper shuffler.
I've been around the block a few times, and I don't care to see people
in my neighborhood taken advantage of.
I'm not at all implicating, that Mr. Peter, isn't, hasen't, or won't
deliver, but I have a hard time with the fact that he is nothing more
than an order taker, forwarding an order to SA for an engine conversion,
and for this intense, grueling, and difficult task, he Demands 100% of
the funds up front.
Hmmm---
To me this alone says to me that:
(A) He doesn't trust anyone
(B) He is short on capital
(C) He's the Flim Flam man.
With this thought in mind, I would never, ever, even think about doing
any business with this guy.
You want to?
Have fun.
No ones going to be sitting on that kind of money of mine with nothing
more than a promise.
OK, I'm Done.
