Subject: Was Brake Rotor Squeal. Now tuning and timing research

Hi Mark,
It's good to hear that you have good power. I currently researching
in-depth the timing advance systems. I hope to post an article which
will help us verify that were getting the correct advance or more should
we choose. Additionally, I'd like to locate another way to install a
knock sensor, Dave Marshall has an old Rabbit style I looked into, but
scuttlebutt was it wouldn't really be worth trying as it was uncertain
if the system would be compatible for the Digifant. The early vanagons
might have chance with this system though. Theirs gotta be something
out there.
I'm getting 20 Mpg usually with my automatic. I weigh about 4000 lb,
and drive in 60 Mph most of the time as the speed limit on Vancouver
Island is kinda low, 50 - 60 mph. This actually hurts my mileage since
the vanagon automatic has a stall speed torque convertor at 3200 RPM,
and the real lock up isn't until about 3600 RPM which I barely get to.
But the good side is the 3200 RPM stall speed means I get Diesel like
low end power!
Sincerely,
Mark Keller
