Don't forget the lateral tie down straps as well. In mnay respects, they
are more important than the bow and stern ties. Buy the cam straps from
NRS(NW river supplies) or Thule or Yakima(overpriced on the straps) if you
are knot-challenged. The last thing you want is an 80# canoe tumbling down
the interstate and going through someone's windshield. Liability is with
the driver of the vehicle, regardless of who fastenede the boat to the top
of the vehicle.
