Well, I finally got around to adjusting the valves in the '88. Up till this afternoon, I had been under the assumption (duh!) that the DPO had adjusted them when he installed the heads. They were all too tight. Some just a little bit, but there were several that were tight by several turns. Before I go out and blow the darned thing up by driving it, it IS .006" of play between the valve end and the rocker, correct???? I remember some posts speaking of 6 mils, and I'm not quite sure how that translates. Uh . . . this wouldn't, by any chance, be the reason it doesn't have enough power to go down the road, would it? and could this have something to do with it running rich, too? Karl Wolz |
