The causes of intermittent shorts or malfunctions could be linked to
many causes.  The official fix was posted, but essentially is a list of
must do items which I can't seem to find.

Anyway, one or two come to mind.  A ground strap is added from the AFM
to the block. $4 at napa.

The connectors on the harness point to the ecu, on some models didn't
have strong clamping, subsequent harness connector had addition
compression rings to increase clamp force.  Clean with electronic
cleaner, I use Tarn x, the coat with Electric grease compound I use OX
GUARD.

The third thing is the wire from the O2 sensor can be suspect, it is a
coaxial wire to the ECU.  The list has suggested a microphone type wire
from radio shack et al is suitable.

And I would add to ensure the fuel pressure regulator and vacuum supply
is accurate since the ECU bases it calculations blindly on these two
values being right.
