The breather system seems to be clear.  I checked the hose and valve cover,
no restrictions.  I notice a small amount of back pressure when I blow into
the hose when it is connected to the intake manifold, which seems right.

I also looked at the transmission and saw that the S/N is DZ.  Since it has
the lower final drive ratio the top speed should be 65mph.  The van will go
a small amount over that so I am wondering if I have been over revving the
motor and that is the cause?

Time to adjust the rev limit and keep searching.

My first guess is to check the breather system for any kinks or blockages.
This is the hose that comes form the valve cover and branches to two hoses
going into the intake manifold. Also make sure the screen in the valve
cover
is not gunked up. Test by blowing back through the hose outlet. Any
restriction can cause the crankcase pressure to push oil out past the
seals.
