You can get (or build) a mechanic's starter switch -- just a big heavy spring-loaded switch with a pushbutton and a pair of clip leads. One lead goes to alternator B+ or some other convenient place, other end to the starter control lead at the starter. Once you know what you're looking for you can squeeze your hand up there to connect/disconnect it -- but much easier if you put a mirror and light there and see what you're looking for first. The control lead is the wire plugged into a double terminal -- you can clip the switch to the free side. Make *Sure* it's out of gear before you do this. This will crank the motor with or without ignition, but of course it won't start with the key off. david
