I'm a new and proud owner of a 87 Vanagon (still unnamed) and I must admit I really enjoy it. I've been monitoring silently this mailing list for a while now and I think I'm ready for my first post. :-) Summer is not even here yet and I'm already planning how I'll store my van for winter. Early you say? Maybe, but it was all triggered by a sale at Canadian Tire this week. They have the 2-tons axle stands on sale a 10$CDN (about 25 cents US) each, until tomorrow. I was thinking of putting my van on four of these for next winter (the van will stay in my garage). Does anybody know if these 2-ton axle stands are enough for a Vanagon or if I should go for the 3-tons or even 6-tons axle stands? Or if there is a better solution? Details about those stands can be found at: http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=128923&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=168423&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=168431&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=168435&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=168435&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=166979&bmUID=992522421030 Thanks in advance Jean Labonte 87 Vanagon |
