Hey folks, My understanding of the heater boxes is that they consist of basically an exhaust pipe with the appropriate fittings that runs through an alloy box. My van has rusty rotting fittings and other exhaust components that need to be replaced. The question is, is it possible to have someone custom build new interior pipes and fittings for the heater boxes? they're just so darned expensive. Do the alloy boxes come apart? Also, has anyone had any other exhaust components custom built? Like crossover pipes? My california van has a discontinued crossover pipe, and the only way to fix it is track down one from who knows where, or switch the whole system to 49 state? Does anyone have any ideas on custom aftermarket exhaust set-ups? thanks a bunch. Greg. 82 vanagon westfalia, california edition. |
