Subject: Diesel Head Torque spec
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

According to the Bentley manual the head bolts should be torqued then run for 1000 miles then re-torqued 90 degrees. According to a Clymer manual after the 1000 miles the head bolts should be loosened 30 degrees then re-torqued to 65 ft lbs. Both books are referring to the same type of head bolts.

Anyone have any comments on the differences between these two methods? They look quite different to me.

Thanks
