Subject: Re: Where do I get Michelin MXTs (Reinforced) in 205/70R14?

Joe,

I've been trying to research this also for the past week or so. The MXT's are discontinued, and as far as I can tell no one currently offers a LT/reinforced tire in that size (surely this has been covered here befoe, but suprisingly, I have found nothing after searching, and searching...) If others have info, do tell! Ar there really NO alternatives available in that size??? Michelin couldn't help, Tire Rack couldn't help, VW couldn't help, Costco couldn't help, nor could several local shops.

*But*, I did find one local (s. california) tire shop (name slips my mind) that said they could get them, so I ordered this morning. (I had little confidence since my local Discount Tire Center said the same thing, only to call me back the next day to say that they were refunding my credit card) $105 a pop.

Anyway, I just checked with the shop, and the tires have arrived. I will go within the next week to get them. So if you're still looking, I can give you the name of the place, or I could even get them and ship them to you.

-James
