Subject: Water pump replacement successful -- now to completely flush
              system -- how?

I didn't expect to be here one week ago, but I managed to do the water pump job following Tom's web page. I owe him a good deal of gratitude. This was actually fun for me. So now in the last stage I am adding a step. I am using K&W block seal treatment for the head drip. Instructions say to completely flush system until no antifreeze is left. I spent let's see, 5 hours flushing. Each time revving engine, adding water to expansion tank (all bleeder valves open), gradually closing them as system closed off, waited 20 minutes, drained water, repeated ad nauseum, maybe 4 or 5 times. Yeah, the solution is real transparent, but still somewhat colorful. Am I asking to much for it to be crystal clear in order to do the block seal treatment? One added comment: I am unable to access the right head drain plug because of a screw that holds the right head shield. See, the exhaust pipe at said location was welded in a skewed manner making that screw immobile. What I have been doing is jacking the front end 15" as well as tilting (jacking) the right side in hopes of draining it's water contents out through the left head water drain. should I continue tomorrow with the aforementioned process until only clear water comes out? Thanks for your words of wisdom....I know it's most likely a temp fix (the block seal), but $8.00 is in my budget, not $1,500 for now. Who knows maybe I'll even tackle the head job one day soon as this water pump job has given me a boost of confidence that I can take care of the rig afterall.

Cheers,
