The breather system seems to be clear. I checked the hose and valve cover, no restrictions. I notice a small amount of back pressure when I blow into the hose when it is connected to the intake manifold, which seems right.

I also looked at the transmission and saw that the S/N is DZ. Since it has the lower final drive ratio the top speed should be 65mph. The van will go a small amount over that so I am wondering if I have been over revving the motor and that is the cause?

Time to adjust the rev limit and keep searching.
