Its not the weight as much as the distribution. The list had a "heaviest item" contest a few weeks ago... I have personally carried a 535lb fridge which rested on the engine compartment and the top of the bench seat (z-bed cushion removed). The weight was better distributed than your bike. Do what you can to distribute the weight as evenly as possible... the centre / side stand especially could be an issue.
