Hi There!! :-)

Well, I think I have major problems here now...But to update you real quick (for those who haven't read my past posts), my distributor popped out, approximately 1/4", while cruising down the highway. I put it back in, timed it and put a new clamp on it. I fired it up and took it for a short spin and it did the exact same thing again after 10 minutes of driving. It died when I just entered the expressway and reached the speed of about 45 mph. It felt like it was running out of gas and missing pretty bad then shut down--all within a couple of seconds. I had it towed home AGAIN and another night off from work!!

I pulled the worm gear out and sure enough it was not aligned to the Number 1 Cylinder...some how it jumped. I examined the drive shaft/worm gear, I noticed now there is a tooth missing (it wasn't before)...it's off the top gear of the distributor. There is metal filings all over. I removed the flat metal mechanical fuel pump cover to get a better view of inside to see if I could see what was going on, and I noticed the bottom gear that contacts the crank shaft looks pretty good but the gear that drives the distributor is all chewed up. It looks like it's made of brass as I used a magnet to pull out the shims for the worm gear and it didn't seem to attract to this gear at all.

I'm down pulling out what few hairs I have left from my tired head! It's up to you guys now!! And I do appreciate all your comments and suggestions...I hate to part with Roxanne!! :-)

Have A Good One and Thanks Again!!
