1. how hot is the catalytic converter supposed to get? it doesn't rattle, and has a good o2 sensor in it. gets damn hot, i can feel the heat on my legs as i walk behind the van after a fifteen minute drive.

2. i am going to install hella air horns, and don't have enough confidence in my electrical knowledge to feel comfortable just diving straight in. shocking, i know. can i use the original horn wires to switch the relay if i put the relay down by the horn? or can i use the original horn wires as positive/ground if i put the relay and new fuse up by the other fuses/relays? anyone else put these in who can advise me?

3. anyone want a power converter for the cost of shipping? matt pollard dropped one off (we thought it might be a converter/inverter, but it just is a converter)? will allow you to plug in at a campsite and charge that second battery if you don't have other means. ups from 95064 plus the $5 pickup fee ups charges. btw, thanks matt for the pics of the lad. congrats to you and jen! just wait 'till you *really* see him.

thanks, all. bill '87 syncro westfalia http://www.scruznet.com/~kasper/pics/westy/
