OK folks,

I really have enjoyed the cross-section of humanity that this thread has revealed. So, I'll just jump in with my little bio. Don't get bored!

Name:Steve Suprata (Syncrosteve)

DOB: September 13, 1956

My father was born in Bali, Indonesia. My mother from Upstate NY. Lorena's Mother from Guatemala, her dad from N.C. Other nationalities mixed in somewhere on both sides.

Married to wonderful Lorena for 4 years. ( how did I ever get so fortunate!)

Just had a baby - Tessa Isabela 6 months old. WOW! daddyhood is the A++ of experiences!! I know 44 is a little late to start a family, but I had to go through a 22 year practice marriage in order to get to the real one. Just wish I'd learned a bit more...

Live in Wheaton, MD just N of Wash., D.C. Born in DeeCee and moved to MD early on.

Work for the local county Highway Dept. as a Program Manager ( fleet manager, training coordinator, some other stuff). Before that supervised a bunch of Hwy inspectors. Been in the Montgomery County Gummint since high school. Ready for a move. If anyone knows of a job along those lines near the beaches in Florida just let me know!

I enjoy cultural stuff like all the museums in Washington, theater, classical, rock, Latin music. I'm a history and science buff so having all those museums close by is great.

Love bikes. Off road, on road and especially Harleys! Had 2 - an 85 FXR Low Glide and later an 87 FLHS Electraglide Sport. The most fun on two wheels! Didn't go fast, but sure could go LONG. Did 500 mi one day on a trip through New England. Fun, Fun, Fun. Would have driven more but my buddy on his Honda was saddle sore.

I enjoy reading SF and SF movies. But I especially enjoy reading the Bible and seeing how science and archeology confirm Bible subjects.

Oh yeah, VW's: Currently my daily driver is an 86 Syncro Westy "Izzie" (wife wouldn't let me nickname the baby that) Previous VW's:86 Syncro GL, 77 Westy, 76 Loaf, 70 Westy, 72 Ghia, 85 Fox, 69 Convertible, 68 Bug

Other cars:Wife's-2000 Mercury Sable previous:96 Nissan Altima, 92 Mercury Capri Xr2 Turbo, 95 GMC Pickup, 87 Mercury,90 Nissan 4x4 PU, 82 T-Bird Turbo Coupe, 69 Jeep 4x4 PU, 68 T-Bird, 82 Dodge Challenger, 66 Buick Le Sabre, 41 Ford GPW(Jeep) (Ford designed the JEEP before Willys won the gov contract and produced Ford's design. Ford later got to build some), 42 Willys Jeep.

So there-still awake?
