Difficulty in filling the tank, slow filling or spillage out the neck is not in any way an inherant problem with the VW filler neck design. Something is amiss and the likely causes have been referred to. I have never had difficulty in filling the tank to the full 60 liters capacity and never has any even split back out...er unless I've just simply tried to stick too much in attempting to round off at the next dollar.BTDT a few times...;)

Go with full premium or hi grade or whatever you call it...especially in summer.Your van will run slightly cooler and be less prone to any pre-detonation.It will also have just a little more ooomph and get slightly better milage going close to off-setting the higher fuel price. Some will say there is no point but that was recommended to me by the VW boys I bought my van from new back in '92 and who really do know the wasserboxer inside & out. I didn't just take their word for it however,I have tried using both regular and premium unleaded and have definately noticed a difference albeit not earth-shattering...
