I do. In fact it happened to me last night. (happens on both of my Syncros) Be aware that setting the nozzle on the first notch and leaving to wash the windows will almost always have you buying more gas than will fit, as it ends up on the ground. I suspect that the trip sensor is vaccuum driven by the passing fuel and at low flow rates, it just isn't adjusted to trip properly. It has happened so much to me that I quit complaining to the stations about the adjustment, I just expect it to happen.

To clarify form previous posts: There are two different problems that are addressed here. 1) Syncros don't fill well near the top. I do have functional vent lines, and it still happens. NOTE: If you don't like it on your vanagon, don't even consider a Durango, you have to nurse the whole tank in. 2) Fuel spilling on 2wd vanagons from under the vehicle when filling: Top of tank equalizing line is broke or out of it's grommets. It is possible to replace while the tank is in. You just have to be patient and do it through the wheel well. Part is something like $22.00.

If it's not an inherent problem why do we all have it? Are > there some syncro owners out there who don't have this problem?
