I too have noticed the increase on the spare list. I assume that some of the members there do not want to deal with the volume of mail from the main list (98 posts so far today) and so subscribe only to the spare. But that's just a guess on my part.

I allow html on the spare list mainly because some listmembers are on AOheLL and are using the Version 6 of that software. Unfortunately V6 is html only. I fought it for a year and finally capitulated. Hence, html messages... I'm afraid that html mail is the wave of the future.
