Hello Listers,

I've been away for a long, long time but just re-subcribed tonight. It feels
good to be back in the fold...

Here's my issue of the day (It's always something ain't it? Never a boring
day with a Westy):

I own an '82 aircooled Westy (a.k.a. "Victoria"). When I turn on the main
propane valve to fire up the stove/fridge, I hear a hissing sound and smell
the telltale rotten egg-propane smell. I found an open space and sprayed
soapy water on the pipes. As I kept nosing around under there, I figured out
that the sound was coming from what I assume is the pressure regulator
(square thing-a-ma-jiggy, about 2"x3"x2"?). I took off the little plastic
cover and looked closer.

Sure enough, there was a steady blast of propane emitting from a small hole,
adjacent to what looks like a little post, protruding about a half inch and
maybe a quarter inch in diameter.

The hole appears to serve a purpose. What is it supposed to do and why is it
hissing and making such a fuss? Do I need a new pressure regulator?

Anyone have experience with this?
