I don't have my Bentley in front of me, but as I recall Bentley says adjust to zero clearance then an additional 2 turns in. I recall seeing a post by Boston Bob Donalds indicating he prefers setting to zero lash with no additional. On my old 2.0 aircooled, another manual said to use 1.5 turns as opposed to 2 turns recommended by Bentley. In no case have I ever seen .006 as was used on air cooled motors prior to hydraulic lifters.
