Just be sure your tank hasn't rusted through at the top. I had the same problem, dropping the tank showed that the P.O. had bodged a fibreglass repair (which had split) and about 1/4 of the fuel tank was open the the air. I reckon if I had put the van on its side the entire tank would have emptied itself in about 30 seconds which probably wouldn't be a good thing. A new tank solved the problem.
