I don't think so. In theory, with perfect lifters, "0" would be correct. I'm going to stay with 1/2 turn in because I have 7 lifters with about 160,000 on them. I used to spend a lot of time turning wrenches as a hobby. The correct way to adjust older hyd lifters on an V-8 or inline 6 (upright engine) is to start the engine and adjust the valves while the engine is running until they are quiet. This pretty much equals "0" while taking into consideration the individual lifter spring strength. I have not been able to figure out a way to do this on a flat four (unless you turn it on its side.
